Delete the files in your Temporary Internet files and Temp folders. Don't run any other apps at the same time. Increase your page file size. I'm running P4PP on XP 1GB RAM, 40GB HD with no problems at all.

This computer has never been on the internet, so the folders has allways been emty. In the temp folder it is only something for the scanner. The hard drive is emty. Can it be something else???

Is Windows set to handling the virtual memory on it's own, or is it set to something else? I let Windows handle my vitual memory and I never have problems. If it get's low, the OS takes care of it. It could also be that your hard disk is so full that there just isn't enough room for the virtual memory to do it's job. Laurie

Did you run the 4.03 update patch? I seem to recall there being an issue with Poser 4 and too much RAM. This might be what you're running into. I'm not sure if or when this was fixed. Perhaps someone else will know. Frank

FrankJann has the right idea. Lot's of people get these errors not realizing that there is a patch to fix many Poser4 problems. Get the patch, make certain that your VM is set to Min=1 or 2GB, and it should improve.

Poser's "out of memory error" does NOT mean that your computer is out of memory! It takes a LOT for a PC to run out! Som changing your settings will probably have no effect on Poser. It really means that there is something wrong with the model that you are trying to load- probably a bad reference in it. And since this question is asked so much (and people don't seem to know how to use the "Search" button), why isn't this answered in a FAQ section somewhere? We can also include how to make MAT poses and where to get Vicky (or Vicky 3)!

While I agree with you JohnRender, you missed the point of his question. Poser is erroring when starting, not when loading a model. This is in the FAQ at Curious Labs and is a known issue. The correct solution is to install the patch and properly set your VM.
