Does someone know a program for creating grass for bryce 5?
madmax_br5 posted Fri, 17 January 2003 at 1:53 PM
Make a tree in bryce 5. Make the leaves "bamboo" shape. Make number of leaves 8, and size of leaves 1 or 2. Make the trunk material completely invisible (in the material lab, make transparency 100% and turn on blend transparency.) Then make the leaf material green. Now, duplicate the tree a few times, spread them out into a big clump, and place them all just so they poke out of the ground. Tada!

There is a program that produces grass models out there but I can't find it right now. Maybe someone else has the link.

Here is the freeware that I think Aldaron was talking about. "grass" from Bantam 3DThis is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

If you search through the "Free Stuff" section, someone put a material for grass on there quite a while back. Also, you can go to www.3dplants.com and she has one for free, plus a ton of nice plants for free as well!

Bantam is nice, pretty easy to use, but with advanced settings/abilities if you want them. (And it's FREE) 3D Cafe has a few good grass-type meshes; http://www.3dcafe.com/asp/meshes.asp

You can also paint spikes onto a high resolution terrain for a nice mown grass effect
