Nice graphic. I hope we are not supposed to come up with those too! ;-) The thing that worries me the most on this project is dialog. Not sure how we would manage that between contributers (conspirators?). jon

Only if you feel a sudden motivation to do one.

What happened to Pupeye...He's the black sheep of the family, while all the others are lawyers he became a brain surgeon( one of the many possibilities)
tjames posted Mon, 20 January 2003 at 5:45 PM
Alice Goon was queen of the goons and had a total crush on popeye( I love popeye)Peter Goon is her son. This isn't to say she had an illicit love affair with a sailor, but he did retire to Skull Island after all.

Are the goons gonna crash and bash...or are they going to wait for Popeye and Peter to try and talk things out in Capitol City? RC14 Jag's action sequence...don't let him do that. Call in the National Guard the goons are rioting C Haggees gone loco and she turning all the oil workers into toads. I said she was pissed. Maybe she'll just go and beat on the head of OO oil and gas. Stay tuned. As the plot gets even more twisted. Oh my god...I'll have to IM Cres with this idea.

tjames posted Thu, 23 January 2003 at 7:42 AM
Jon why don't you use that graphic on RC14. Couldn't get popeyes pic, but I did get one of B. Luto workin' on that today.
ChuckEvans posted Thu, 23 January 2003 at 12:27 PM
Sweetpea sounds REAL! Nice tune, TJ (aka Sweetpea)!
tjames posted Thu, 23 January 2003 at 12:57 PM
You can't do echo verse on Renderosity..When The crowd yells Don't like it in echo to I'm Sweet Pea the server takes out the whitespace and reformats it.

Nice work so far, all. Any Vue'rs here? I'm working up a pic for my piece and am having some technical dificulties. It's in the attached thread. I can't seem to get a decent shadow on my wavy glass. Grrr. BLuto's gunna bust my head soon if I don't get if figured out! When Popeye and company arrive, it might be useful for them to see a shaken lobiest hurridly exiting the room. Thanks. jon

tjames fixed the problem for me. I lowered the Refraction Index on the glass and that worked great. Thanks. Now to a writing problem. I'm afraid my Popeye memories are dim at best. If you all can throw me a few bones on the types of colorful metaphores Bluto used, and any names he really liked to use on Popeye himself, it might help me when they actually have to talk to each other. Blow me down! jon

Popeye cartoons are currently shown on Cartoon network on Sunday and on Boomerang. We have a satellite dish but Boom wasn't offerred on the tier we chose.

Yeah, it was a long time for me. Can't remember now if Bluto smoked a cigar or not. And I know Robin Wiliams played Popeye in a movie once.
jstro posted Thu, 23 January 2003 at 6:26 PM
Well, he smokes a cigar now. :-) Folks do pick up bad habits, after all. I'm getting a little nervious since everyone seems to be writing dialog that seems very in character, and the stuff I've put together so far sounds like conversation you'd hear anywhere. Too dry. I need to spice mine up. jon

Good job mysteri....I would have given the boat a more dubious look in keeping with the name and the story.

I'm confused. Wasn't Anita Haggees' daughter? They don't seem to be related at all now. jon

Yeah she's off somewhere I'll be at wf chat tonight at 6 the stories into transition after the narration RC15 so we have to work out the conclusion.

Glad my contribution was adequate. I figured that Carlton, like any good car salesman, would at least make it LOOK good on the outside, and the problems wouldn't show up until you drove the vehicle of the lot.
Crescent posted Sat, 25 January 2003 at 11:52 PM
Sorry, I missed that part. Then again, Auntie Haggee may be playing with a full deck, but it's not all the usual cards, so maybe there's a thread someone could play with on that. What was supposed to be a quiet weekend for me to finish getting caught up has been suddenly filled with offline obligations, so I'm a bit distracted. (And annoyed.)
tjames posted Mon, 27 January 2003 at 2:07 AM
Seems I have a couple a days off here so I'm advancing the plot to the conclusion I hope everyone has fun as we start to wind it down.

Sorry, I had to pop out to the library to return some books that were due. It's posted now. Will Olive snag BLuto from the air in the nick of time? Will a nice bed of spinach break his fall? Or will BLuto drill a new oil well with his hard head? Stay tooned, folks... jon

Applause, applause. Popeye was a favorite of mine when I was little ... I don't know why and I won't defend my childhood tastes. This was a nice visit back and updated very cleverly. Good job all. You are a credit to the Thimble Theater.
