sorry for not taking this up on the fractal board, but the ultimate use of this would be for bryce :) is there a program where you enter a mathematical equation and you get a fractals, or how do they work, and how could i get one? thank you Drac

If you don't have it, get Susan Kitchen's Real World Bryce. Terrains and procedural materials use fractal formulas and she's the only one around that explains it from what I can see. Also, don't be bashful about posting in the pandromeda MojoWorld board. Ken Musgrave, the creator of MW, programmed the fractal stuff for Bryce and he watches that board pretty closely. Ultrafractal above is one of the best. Here's a few links to fractal thingies. http://www.eclectasy.com/Fractal-Explorer/index.html http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/2854/fractalworld.html Also, you can build terrains using the Parametric Terain Editor which is a freeware stand alone program at: http://www.castironflamingo.com/tutorial/pte/ And here's an image of Lake Mandlebrot that I did with a fractal program and the image imported to the terrain editor. i dont' recall if it was fractint or UF. Probably UF. http://www.3dcommune.com/3d/galview.mv?Bryce+WsPHHOebg+1023409615 Oh, and if you ever run into a user named fractalinda or something like that, she's fantastic at fractal materials.

Ultrafractal looks pretty neat, but it's also $50.
