Recently, when I am creating a image and I click to add a figure the message "You are out of memory" appear deleting the figure that was selected. That happen because I have more figures the the program or computer can handle? How can I fix that? Do Poser 5 fix that? Maybe a more powerful computer? I have a P3 550 with 512 RAM. Thank you

Go to the geometry folder and delete the rsr file for the figure that created the message. Poser will rebuild it, but make sure it's the rsr in the geometry folder.

My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

Saur, it's also the all-purpose, one-size-fits-all error message for Poser, so don't think that it's all about the memory you've given Poser. It could be other things as well. I work on a Mac, which doesn't use rsr files, and I get it anytime Poser gets cranky about things.

yup that's the Poser doh message - relevant to nothing Usually means that your geometry RSR is bad, sometimes means you've been using Poser too long and need to reboot and sometimes who knows what :) Poser is like that

I did a search for the rsr in the geometry folder of the figure with the problem and only the obj. file was found. T rsr file is in the fifures folder. I deleted it bu without suscess. I do not what else to do. Do pPoser % have the same problem? Maybe a more powerful computer?

the rsr in the figures folder is an image file, and should not affect your object at all.

this happens, when a) the rsr file in the geometry folder is corrupt b) when poser can't locate the appropriate OBJ file the rsr-files in the object folder and in the figures folder are two different things. as stated the rsr-files in the figures library palette are only the thumbnails showing the item. if you look at filesize: they are of small size, approx 10 -20 KB the rsr-files in the obj-folger have - depending on complexity - up to some megs. look into th cr2 file and search for the obj-file reference. make sure it looks for the obj file in the right directory. this is a must, otherwise poser can't locate the obj-file and the error message appears.

Sometimes we get the "out of memory" error after we get other error messages. For instance, Poser asks where to find a geometry file, and we don't know where it is. In fact, I can't think of a time when the "out of memory" error comes by itself. Everytime I read about someone's problems with "out of memory" errors, I figure they forgot to tell us some important facts.

poser out of memory error is equal to windows bsod. ;) never had it hit me, even with piss poor computer with no ram to speak of. maybe it's cause I rip crap out, never use ie/outlook and generally do not trust ms to have done a single thing right so I always do preventative maintenance on windows. when I did have a corrupt rsr, it threw up, cannot read geometry file error not memory error.
