There's a robe similar to what you're talking about on poser guild's site. I'd say download that and look at the Hierarchy file. Or ask Fast Traxx, who knows everything lol

Ghost, There's a look up table in the Poser4 directories you can use as a reference guide. "Poser4/Runtime/figures/StdHierarchy.txt" -Jeff H.

Don't bother with it just cut the mesh to match a figure and edit the CR2 of the trench coat to point to the robe it'll automatically be conforming then .......Steve

Hey Ghost, When I made my first robe, I chained it like a snake keeping the seems in alignment with the joints on the legs. Opening and closing were done with morphs. Another approach wound be to have seperate strips of fabric coming off the hip like fingers on a hand but they must not be too close to each other. The strips can then be articulated individually to get a great flowing effect. Just like the cloth on the Zygote Fairie. My robe is at the Prop's Guild. It has a design flaw in that it can't 'sit', but it was my first attempt. Check it out. Hope this helps some, Anton, formerly 'akisiel'

You're getting two classes of response here, so it might help to distinguish them. To make a robe into a conforming garment, it needs a hip and thighs, but need not have shins, as it won't move with them. The hip section should reach to the bottom between the thigh sections both back and front unless the front is open. It pays to make the bottom end wide enough for the legs not to pass through when the character walks. If you want some part of the robe to be movable independent of the wearer, then you need extra sections that do not have the same part names as the body parts, so that there will be no attempt at a conforming movement. Some of these may be better done with morphs, anyhow.
