Attached Link: My eye
Hi everyone. Thanks for te help on other problems I have had so far. Now, I need more and figured some one here would be able to help me! Anyway, I am very interested in eyes and I like making them in Photoshop. But the problem is, that an eye is probly the most detailed object ever and it is very hard to make. I need some help, some tutorials or whatever you guys have for me to help me make a better image! Look at my eye I have made. I am pretty satisfied with it so far BUT there are missing details! Loads in fact. I need to make a more bumby eye. Notice the light green in my image. I tried to make it but it is impossible. I have noticed that on real eyes there are some craters kinda details in the iris. Any help on how to make that? This guy told me he had a mask for it but never showed me anything... I wanna be making some different eyes for Poser and hope any of you will be able to help me.. You will be granted with the finished file ;) Thanks so far! This looks pretty near perfect to me. Some veins needed on the white bit, which you can make with the Burn tool and a very small brush. And remember the eye will be reduced when used, so you won't even notice those so-called "missing details".
The biggest mistake I see with Poser eyes is the slip of skin (I don't know what it's called) between the eyelashes and the eye ball, which is usually missing in poser renders.

looks really good..only thing i would say is the hairs-fibers whatever, shouldnt be showing in your reflection- highlight. other than that, looks great.

Hmm, I dunno why you guys think it looks good... I am far from satisfied with it. Especially from looking at other eyes for Poser. I know with the hair reflection. I just did that to have a reflection that looked realistic instead of some round reflection. It is not gonna be shown on the finished file. The slip of skin?? Hmm, not sure what you mean Grimtwist. If it the thing that is on the inside of the eyeball next to the nose there is nothing I can do about that. Those are usually part of the facual textures. I know I am missing the vains in the eye white but i haven't gotten to those yet. I wanna have the eye perfect first. Thanks for all your commenting.

There is an iris tut here : http://arcana.daz3d.com/tutorials/ko/ko01/index.html Also over at mec4d.com there is a tut in the forums (if you are a member) about making eye textures from an eyephoto. http://forums.mec4d.com/viewtopic.php?t=74 You have to be a member tho. But its free so it might be worth it. Those are the only 2 I know of, but if you find anymore please let me know! :) Cheers, Gina

Look at your eye in the mirro. There is a space between the the eye-lash line and the eyeball. This is almost always missing on poser renders, and brings the whole image down.

er, mirror....

Thanks Gina! Will definately take a lot as soon as I have finished reading the new Digit copy. Grimtwist: That I can't do anything about. That is a part of the Poser figure and not the eye texture. Sorry

i see what you mean..and it was prob done just like the name says..it was done at an extreme resolution. the cratering effect your talking about looks like it was done in Zbrush, it could prob be photoshop, but zbrush makes that cratering effect pretty easy, the way it uses depth information from your brush to get that embossed=cratering look, plus it has symetrical brush functions that make eye painting very fast. "wish photoshop had symetry" and as for realistic..i havent ever met someone with eyes like that, they are highly detailed though.look over in the zbrush froum or at some of glen southerns work,i think theyr even is a tut on how its done....now everyone can smack me in the head for talking about a different app in the photoshop forum.:)

yeah.. kinda like that.. just larger if you look at your own eye up close there are those craters from the daz3d picture... just not as visible. i am downloading the demo right now to check it out. will also visit glen's site! thanks!

and that little piece of meat in your eye? i think its called lacrimal,"tear duct"..i guess posers cant cry..maybe thats why so many are running around with those funny expressions on theyr faces :)

hey i didnt say it was a work of art..:) that took me 10 minutes.i suppose if i had messed around for 4 hours it "might" look a little better..:)

haha.. sorry, didn't mean it that way.. i totally see what you mean.. i tried zbrush.. it's pretty weird... dunno what's going on and what to do... i will try and make some stuff in Vue4.. maybe I can make a crater mountain and do some cratering.. we'll see...

that is a very realistic looking eye, except i would have made the reflection of white a circle shape, not a square. I am going to definetly read up on this and try to learn how to make such a cool looking eye. Thusfar, I find the most efficient way to make an eye in photoshop is to take my camera and proceed to take a picture. Then I import this picture into photoshop, and chop out the eyeball, and you can even add blood and ooze and stuff.

i am beginning to go through maya personal learning edition lessons, i believe this may help with the eye issue. I may even post one someday in the maya gallery. I was thinking about posting a lesson 1 door i just made, but i see that has already been done darnit.

I finally worked something out... Got extra detail on the iris (a lot more actually - it looks like my own eye now! :)) plus I added some blood vessel texture...
Could this a candidate for a Poser eye?
Hope you all like it. Thanks for all your feeback and help!
