Hey everyone! I'm really new to Poser and 3D in general. For Christmas, I got Bryce 5 and Poser 5 and I've been playing around with Bryce for a while. I am REALLY new to Poser, though. I haven't done anything outside of Poser presets and I'm looking forward to doing more work in it. Although I know Poser has the capabilities to creat very life-like people, my goals are to make more cartoonish figures. (like the ones posted on the attatched thread). How do you go about making these figures and what are some good resources for beginning Poser tutorials (outside the manual :)) Thank you all, your work is great! I look forward to learning from the masters.

Check out the toons at Daz (www.daz3d.com). The fish is this week's freebie, and the others are inexpensive (espeically to platinum club members).

Yeah, but I'd like to learn how to make my own

You have to model them first. Poser and bryce are not modelling programs. Then you need to learn about character set-up in Poser, like joint settings, morph targets, and so on. You're asking a big question. How to make a 3D character! I learn mostly from books.

The [Modeling Forum](http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12402) has links to a few freeware modelers, which should get you started. Renderosity also has forums dedicated to many commercial modeling applications (3DS Max, Lightwave, Maya, trueSpace, etc.).

I prefer MilkShape 3D, myself. Most of my Free Stuff items were made with this program, and I've created toon-style characters with it for Poser, as you can see above.
