I have a 800MHZ CPU and 500MB of RAM and Poser 4.03. The Victoria 3 model will probably tax my system with its higher poly count. If I buy the High resolution maps as well, things might move at a snails pace.

Anyone here using the High Resolution Vicki 3 maps on a similar set up? I don't mind long rendering times so much, but I need to be able to manipulate the model easily - without having to resort to using the block rendering.

I remember reading a while back, that most people rarely need to be using the high resolution models. Unless its a close up of a body part, there may be no difference. Any thoughts on this?

You should be fine. If you do head shots you'll want them. If you never zoom in tighter than the waist then you won't If you have Photoshop or an image program I would say just buy the hi-Res and scale them down to suit your needs. But save copies of the originals. And scale preserving "aspect ratio"

I have a Pentium III, 800MHZ CPU, 314MB of RAM and Poser 4.03 and not having any trouble working = even with other apps open at the same time.

Poser generates a low rez low colour version of the map for its preview mode, so the size of the map does not affect the speed of the posing.

you could also modify the hi-res textures on your machine and save it out as a smaller file as well when needed. That is what I do. I got the hi-res textures (which are awesome BTW) and when I need lower res, I use my modifed texture... HTH

I'm running a Powerbook G4 800mhz with 1 Gig Ram with Poser Pro Pack and V3 with HiRez maps hums along no problem. And that's while surfing the net and other stuff in background.
