... having read some of the recent postings about bugs fixed with the 5.0.1 patch, I'm wondering: where I have to check to see if my Bryce version is the patched one or if I need to go to Corel's web and download the patch? Many thanx Stefano

Good question...usually with any program you go to the menu (help>about) and it will tell you. Bryce 5 doesn't do that, that I can see. You can always right click on your main Bryce executable, (Bryce5.exe) choose properties, then the version tab, if patched it will say 5.0.1.0

I got B5 a couple of months back and according to the customer support guy all the patches were supposed to have been applied, but I ended up applying the patch anyway as stuff that people were telling me about the operation of B5 indicated that it didn't have the patch. I applied the patch and B5 then behaved as I was told it should. - TJ

Thanks a lot AgentS, I just discovered I have 5.0.0.xxx and I downloaded the patch. Now I'll install it with crossed fingers (my, the readme file at Corel's seems a new drug "undesired effects" warning :)). :) Stefano

To my knowledge, neither the upgrade to 5.0 or the complete program has been sold in a form where the patch has already been applied.

Doesn't the logo change from Metacreations to Corel when the patch is applied??

Dunno, Bryster, I had the Corel logo from start, but my version is still the unpatched 5.0.0something. S.

B5 has never had a Metacreations-icon as far as I know, because it's never been sold by metacreations. When Bryce5 first came out Corel already bought it.

Exactly Rayraz. It was Bryce 4 that after Corel bought it, they (Corel) came out with a new 4.1 patch that also installed the new Corel logo's. I kept a copy of the old MetaCreations 4.1 patch, just for grins. AS
