Was wondering if this picture would be a candidate for this gallery?

Slynky posted Tue, 28 January 2003 at 6:29 PM

yup. no such thing as candidacy. if you think it belongs in the PS forum (prviding PS played a decent role in the final product) go for it

SevenOfEleven posted Tue, 28 January 2003 at 6:51 PM

Just used photoshop to lighten the picture. Is that enough?

Slynky posted Tue, 28 January 2003 at 7:39 PM

dude, don't bother asking such questions. if you think it belongs, then put it. no one'll light yer rectum on fire for it.

Looks pretty cool Aaron, feel free to post here especially if you're working on something and have trouble getting Photoshop to give you what you want.

PERSONAL NOTE:

Actually I'd like to see more images posted here to go over techniques and effects.
Not too many are willing

glad ya stopped by,

u mean PS to lighten it? wut program did u make this in?

SevenOfEleven posted Wed, 29 January 2003 at 10:11 AM

Was originally made in Bryce and adjusted in photoshop.

antevark posted Wed, 29 January 2003 at 12:49 PM

nice then, like the water reflection, and u did the tree well

SevenOfEleven posted Wed, 29 January 2003 at 1:25 PM

Thank you. If you want to know the technique, let me know.

antevark posted Wed, 29 January 2003 at 1:53 PM

sure, why not? u might even look into selling this as fine art in the MP

Grimtwist posted Wed, 29 January 2003 at 5:16 PM

It was made in Bryce therefore it should be posted in the Bryce gallery. Seems obvious to me you just wanted everyone to look at it.

SevenOfEleven posted Wed, 29 January 2003 at 6:44 PM

Was wondering if I took a Bryce picture and edited it more, would it fit here. I have seen 2d pictures here using poser models. The purpose was to ask a question not to get more viewers.

Grimtwist posted Wed, 29 January 2003 at 7:46 PM

It wouldn't fit here unless you are posting it to demonstrate a PS-related technique, or to ask for technical PS help. This is a forum, not a gallery.

bevchiron posted Thu, 30 January 2003 at 12:33 AM

Grim got it wrong about the gallery! This would be fine in the Mixed media gallery, that's one of the things it's for, 3D work with more emphasis on the postwork.

He said it was only lightened in PS. That hardly makes it mixed media in my book.

antevark posted Thu, 30 January 2003 at 10:20 AM

i find it hard to believe that the image is almos 100% in Bryce. Bryce can't do anything like that, it looks like it's got a LOT of postwork done to it.

Grimtwist posted Thu, 30 January 2003 at 9:38 PM

Agreed. But some people around here seem to think that post work qualifies for posting in the mixed media gallery. If that were the case, almost every poser image would qualify too.

antevark posted Thu, 30 January 2003 at 9:59 PM

i think it's the degree of postwork. if u spend as much time on the postwork as the actual image then i think it qualifies, excluding drawing hair, of course

bevchiron posted Fri, 31 January 2003 at 3:18 AM

The degree of postwork or the use of more than one app. would qualify for the mixed media gallery, ultimately it's up to the artist where they choose to post an image, there are no hard & fast rules with mixed media really.
