Ok, maybe someone else can already answer this. I was reading through the earlier post by the Curious Labs Team and saw they were releasing Poser 5 Pro pack. After finally getting on the site, saw the blurb on it being an update for P4 ProPack. What is this? I thought all ProPack funcionality was already built into Poser5. I thought P5 was supposed to be completely backward compatible. Is this going to be a free upgrade to ProPack and Poser5 users. Are these just the third party extensions? Shipping? Every time I am just about to upgrade, something like this gets released and makes me question the security of making this investment. Maybe I'm alone in questioning, but I don't think so judging by the responses to earlier posts. Customer satisfaction and consumer dollars spent are the components that make the world go 'round for a successful business. If a customer is questioning their satisfaction of a previous purchase, they may question spending their future consumer dollar. When this happens that business world stops turning. I know that alot of people lost their jobs after 9/11,including people right at Curious Labs, and I know that money is tight for alot of people. In my case, at least, my consumer dollars are still getting spent, just less of them and very carefully. I don't doubt that Poser5 is a great program, or will be after getting the final work done on it, but I'm questioning. And from what I see, and you as "The Curious Labs Team" should be seeing, is that alot of us are questioning. Enough questions and your world stops turning, or at least slows down. I think alot of people want Poser5. I want to upgrade. I want to give you my money, but in the world of business, especially with the iminent promise of a competing program, people like me and the other people questioning the CL product are waiting. What are we waiting for? I am not sure. Possibly to see who comes out of the ashes. Maybe it's to get a program to compare to P5, but then again maybe it's to see a finished Poser5 and to find out what's next. Is there enough room for competion? I think so. I will probably own both, but only if I can be confident in the people I am buying it from. A lot of people bought Poser5 simply because they had faith in Steve Cooper. From past experience, he had brought Poser4 out of the Metacreations mess and continued working on patches even when the fate of Poser 4 had yet to even be determined. He was loyal to us. I was going to by Poser5, even in it's not-quite-fixed state because I wanted to return that loyalty. I wanted to help keep his world turning. Kinda funny, Curous Labs webstore was booting up in one window so that I could buy Poser5, and in the other window I was reading the post that Kupa had left here. I'm sure if you have read this far, you know which window I closed. I appreciate the work that CL does and I THANK YOU for it. I love Poser. It's a great program. I really appreciate that the new version, even with it's new features, is still within the realm of affordability for most consumers. I know times are hard. I know that you have made many tough decisions. I know the Curious Labs Team moniker may just be an effort to not create anonimity in the community between those that liked the many people let go and those that are there now. But, one thing I can tell you. From dealing with business in the past, both from the point of supplier and consumer, a name and a personal touch have brought me more customers than I ever could have hoped for. Ever heard the one about people coming from miles around just to let him look underneath the hood? Well, I guess maybe not the best analogy, but if we feel that you are one of us, maybe we'll all start bringing our cars back to you. A name, a smile, and your world keeps turning... No information means bad information. I think reading the posts surrounding all the problems with P5 and CL only confirms that. I'm sure answers will come with time. But one thing I can tell you is that until I am satisfied with those answers, the "Curious Labs Team" will not be getting my money. Satisfied. Money. Two words that come up over and over that are synonomous with a successful business. If you are listening, CLT, make me satisfied and you will get my money. I guess I don't feel like I'm asking for much. Just a paragraph that lets us know what you are working on fixing and updating and how. Rest assure us if it's not going to cost us more money. That's not too much information or detail to bother with,it's good publicity. A few more words would have made me happy. Information. Satisfied. Money. This could end up being a bigger equation, but to be honest, I haven't thought it through that far. This is in NOT meant to be a rant, so please don't continue this thread as one. It's just something I've been thinking about for a while. A well thought statement is all I wished to accomplish. Curious Labs Team: I, for one, will be doing what I can to make sure that your world keeps turning. But not until I'm confident in you (whoever you are) and your product. Until then, I'll be waiting......... Thanks for the time, Chuck

I seriously doubt that CL will make any type of attempt to force users to pay twice to have the software work as promised. I am sure that right now, this very second, Albert Einstein's DNA is being used to produce clones for CL's SUPER DOOPER TEAM. A team consisting of 6000 fuzzy grey-headed babies, which when properly coupled to MAGNANATRON(a super-computer designed by aliens, built by the Japanese, incorporating Intel technology, and a Microsoft operating system), will easily solve all issues pertaining to P5. You must be patient though, drilling the cranial ports takes time. Not to mention changing all of those dirty diapers! PEEE EEWW!

chuck, Well thought out and well said. It's good to read a non-hysterical post that makes valid points. 'A lot of people bought Poser5 simply because they had faith in Steve Cooper' Yeah, tell me about it! I was one of them, at least partly. I also wanted to keep up to date with the app, and figured I'd buy it eventually anyway, so what the heck... Well, I still haven't installed it. It's in it's shrink-wrap and is staying there until I'm sure it won't trash my computer. When I finish my current project in poser 4, I'll think about it. I'm perfectly willing to give CL the benefit of the doubt as to what they're actually doing, but I'd prefer it if I didn't have any doubts. mac

As I posted in another thread here, you would do better emailing this or posting this directly at the CL site. They are not actively reviewing this web site on a day-to-day basis, and so are more than likely to never read your post. Why don't you post this on their tech forum/cust service forum over there, or email them, and if you get a response, come back and paste it here. Just a suggestion. Otherwise, you will most likely be waiting forever for no response. - Ray

as i said once before, the money for p5 was the last money cl saw from me. if the p5 propack update is filled with features that p5 is missing (see beta forum) and exports to max blazingly fast, i might consider giving them 10 bucks for an update (incl. shipping). otherwise i'll wait for daz studio that'll have this feature implemented even in it's free version.
