Subject: Soft shadows...

This image started just as a test for positive and negative lights, then we ended up with this mess. Splattered purple paint balls? We tried it with DOF and also with JUST "soft shadows" (Bryce5-style) and it still didn't come out right. So we just used the standard light array... 76 radials, and some reflections. Took about 12 hours to render on an AMD 1.2/256MB DDR machine.

Well the results here are very good indeed. How many crappy drawings did the old masters do before they did the real paintings? Lin
