Running XP Pro,3 gig Pent4, 1.5 GB Ram. Whenever I try to do an animation in Poser 5 in excess of say, 200 frames and using the raytrace renderer, the computer will freeze sometime after rendering 100 frames. Is this a known problem with Poser 5? If not, would increasing the virtual memory paging file be a solution? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I run ATHALON XP2600/333MHZ BUS, 1GB PC3200DDR, WIN 2000. Using V3, high res tex, and Dynamic hair, rendered only about half of a 30 frame AVI overnight. I haven't tried again. Feeling a little sore aren't we? By the looks of these forums, it seem's to be that keeping things short and sweet is the only way anything will get done in P5, at least for now. I'm sorry if you are sobbing at the moment, I know I am.

Am running xp pro P4 2.8 with 1gig mem and have done up to 780frames at intense firefly production settings with no problems. However, when I was using my old P4 1.8 with 512m mem and high production settings - I did get virtual memory problems and had to allocate more blank disk area for mem then when done with render - reboot. Which is why I bought the 2.8 ;-) I'd check to make sure you have v-mem set high and enough harddisk to cover it as I note that around 300th frame - my harddisk is blinking away and I have nothing else running - not even screensaver.
