Well, there you go. Done in Bryce, didn't follow pidjy's method because I was already rendering when he posted. Not the best work, I would still like to do something to those icebergs because the lighting seems off on them. The haze... not sure if it's necessarily good. Anyway, expecting comments :)

The Auaura should be sharper I think and the horizon is just not right. The icebergs are great but need to be near vertical in places. The general atmosphere(feeling) is great....brrr cold and the sea is terrific! If anything I would add loads more ice in the form of what are called 'growlers', little icebergs, mostly submerged. will do :)

Also might want to use latices for the icebergs, another thing to know, 75%+ of an iceberg is underwater. So sinkem further, you can see the lines. The bane of bryce existance =P.

Looking great so far! I think making part of the horizon be a land mass would look good. Lin

ornlu, i'm aware of the icebergs thing but the water has no transparency so there's no lines to be seen :)

Cool scene. I would love to see it animated. I think it needs a couple of Coca-Cola drinking polar bears.

Very nice...the horizon line does need to be fixed though. the eyes are drawn too much to it.

Can you please tell me how you made those lights in the sky? I am somewhat new to Bryce so I would love to know how you made it.

Ornlu posted Wed, 05 February 2003 at 5:54 PM

Yes I know, I just meant it is a very shrp transition between the water and the ice.

Looks good drac. I've seen some auroras that look like this, but most seem to give me the impression I'm underwater. Maybe that suggestion can help.
