THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Here it is kids - place in here ANY Bryce related links that you can, mats, meshes, homepages, galleries, etc. Anything Bryce related. We have kinda done this before BUT..here is the difference this time; This thread will be linked to the Forum header, so it will ALWAYS be available for reading and ONGOING posting. I'm putting together a collection of links to the Bryce Backroom Compendium, anything posted in there will be added to this. Basically, if there is anything that can remotely be used in conjunction with Bryce, post it! AgentSmith *Thanks to draculaz for the idea of making a way to have this link always available!

No links but a question. If some of these links go dead in the future, are going to have a way to keep track of it and delete the dead links, or is this a strictly a 'try it and see' situation? Lin

pakled ( ) posted Fri, 07 February 2003 at 1:10 PM

Evidently not. I compiled a mammoth listing (over in 3d Links here, under nu-be, 'is this where I post links'), between me and the others, about 950 sites. The listing started in Dec of 2001, and by the time I went back to do a verification, I found about 250 dead links. There's various link testing programs out there, most for free, I suppose you could try that. Here's 2 of my faves Lunariad (above), and Wolfie's Den http://www.wolfiesden.com both of which have tons of Mats, but different ones. On the listing I mentioned, I broke it out by what's on each site, so you could peruse through there, and get any sites not listed. I scammed all the above listings in this thread, into a document, and I'll compare them against my listing, to see if there's any I forgot. Always interested in more links.. There's another site, mainly galleries, etc called The Ultimate Fantasy and Sci-fi Links page, or something like that. It's got 1,014 links, if I counted right. There's some Bryce there as well. Here's the URL http://www.slawcio.com/artsf.html Good luck, and good hunting.

pakled ( ) posted Fri, 07 February 2003 at 4:57 PM

I'm going through that last URL I posted. Like real mining, you have to go through a lot of worthless dirt to find the real gems. The list is almost 2 years old, so there's dead links galore, and a lot of the pictures are sized for the dail-up crowd (nothing wrong with that, it's just 800x600 seems to be a big picture on most of them). A lot of these are non-electronic folks, a lot of famous names here as well. Just didn't want to get anyone's hopes up, it took me 3 weeks to get through it with a T3 line.

AgentSmith ( ) posted Fri, 07 February 2003 at 6:04 PM

Hmm...I'll have to check, but I think I have a (automatic)link checker somewhere, or maybe I'm just thinking of my Frontpage 2000. I'll look into it, especially once these are up in the backroom, I want to have a fast (automatic) way of checking and keeping dead links to a minimum. AS

Found this nice little nugget for text. I have posted an example on my Rosity Home Page of what it can do. This was done using the trial version (I purchased the full version 30 min after testing it)and as you will see on the example it has the x3d watermarked background that you cannot change. I think this is a must have for any one that wants to use text in Bryce or if you are doing web text banners and headers.
