Poser creates an alpha channel for its images. If you save your video using a codec that supports alpha, and have a video editing application that supports alpha, you're all set for compositing.

For Windows .avi video, Full Frames (Uncompressed) and Huffyuv compression both have alpha channel support. I don't know about QuickTime.

As an alternative, you could do the compositing in Poser itself, by importing the background image or video and then rendering on top of it.

You don't say what video editor you're using to composit your movies, but I've not tried one yet where absolute black (RGB 0,0,0) wasn't the default transparency! It's a colour that should never occur in REAL video, so it's safe to use as a chroma-key. If your video editor doesn't work that way, try downloading Zwei-Stein from Thugs at Bay - url: http://www.thugsatbay.com/ A really ugly interface, but it's free, and there's nothing much you can't do with it.
