I recently picked up the muscle maps that work with the Michael form. I'm new to Poser so I had expected some brief explanation of how to apply these maps to the michael form but nothing was included with the product and I can't quite figure out how to apply them. I can get Michael al set up and running but not the muscle maps. I'm guessing it has something to do with surface materials. Is there a tutorial around or can someone point me to the proper place in the manual? It would be greatly appreciated.

In your pose directory is a folder titled "TJSMusclemaps". Double click on one of the icons and the texture will be applied to the figure.

Raypete, pdxjims is correct. Just double-click on the version (regular or lite) you want and the textures are automatically applied to your mike character. If you have problems, let me know.

Hey Tim, I just wanted to add that I love the Mike version! I've already done one image in my gallery with it and working on another one.

Hi I've got the mike versions of these, think they look great, was thinking a vic 3 version would be good. (Wonder what they'd look like on the zombie morphs I just got!)

Thanks for the comments. Always great seeing the muscle maps being used.
KattMan, I liked the variety of your gallery. Of course out of all of them, Perfect Couple is my favorite.
Blending together parts of the zombie and muscle texture is a good idea artbyphil. It would add another dimension to the textures.

Thanks for the notes. Still having problems though. I applied the muscles through the pose directory and the skin tone of mike turned white but no muscles appeared. Any ideas why? Oh tjs61822 there is a Steph version of the muscle maps available for the female form.

hi Have you checked your display is set to Texture shaded and not smooth shaded. This might be a bit obvious but it fooled me a few times when I was new to poser. You can also check render options to see if the textures are being loaded.

Raypete, make sure you have textures checked in the render options dialog. Not sure how much RAM you have, but sometimes if memory is low, textures won't load. Tim

Well, I'm getting there. I had indeed had the render set to smooth and subsequently changed it to texture. However I immediately crashed. So I tried again with a new file and had Mike loaded and applied the pose and got an odd mix where the head image muscles applied properly but the body image was an off-color green like it was applying under the skin instead of on top. Then I crashed again. So I'm trying to redo the steps. Do I need to tinker with the render options (surface materials) applying the head and body separately or should the whole map apply at the same time that I load the pose?

Hi When I use it I Make sure mike is selected and I click on the tick for applying the mat pose It applies the maps to all the figure and face. Just a thought what spped processor and how much ram have you got, could be a memory thing if it keeps crashing.
Raypete posted Sat, 08 February 2003 at 5:28 PM
I'm on a 450 mHz G4 Mac with 1 Gig of memory. I bumped the memory up after the first try so that should be okay but I might try even more. When you refer to the check box for applying the mat pose is it in the surface materials dialogue box or located elsewhere?

Raypete, make sure mike is selected in your window, select the TJS Mike Muscle Maps from the Pose library and click the check mark (apply library preset) at the bottom of the Pose library. If the textures don't render, increase the RAM for Poser.
Raypete posted Thu, 13 February 2003 at 2:51 AM
Well I tried tripling the ram allotment for Poser and that seems to have been the trick as I now can get the muscles to render properly. Thanks for all your help.

Raypete, glad you have them working. Let me know if you have other problems. Tim
