Does it really look wrong? Without knowing what you have in mind, the squarish open mouth looks appropriate to my eyes, given that the head is highly angular to begin with.

heyas... I'm curretly working on an anime figure too... in Lightwave try selectig the upper part of the mouth and then use the magnet tool, put the center of the tool on the mouth an then stretch the tool to the end where you want the mouh to open, also use the "n" on the keyboard to adjust the magnet settings, the same aplies to the lower part of the mouh... (damn, can't put image examples 'cuz I don't have internet at my worksite. btw, if you want I can made the expresions for you, I only need a copy of you current work) Regards... Well, the head is angular, but this is definitely not what I had in mind. I just wanted a simple morph to represent the basic opening and closing of the mouth. On a human, the jawbone would swing down, and the skin around the mouth and lips would stretch and distort smoothly to conform to the jawbone. But I have no clue how to simulate that effect here!
