It's so addicting, that I was gonna take the rest of this week off from Bryce to prepare my computer for a format on Sunday...but since I can't go that long w/o working on a Bryce image of some sort, I am formatting tonight and gonna work on an image on Saturday and Sunday instead...haha :) On the 9th, it'll be a month working in Bryce and being on Renderosity...the first month has been a ton of fun and thanks to everyone who gives advice and also supports my scenes with great comments! They are always much appreciated. :) Regards, MadDog31

Very addicting! That's why we're still here years later as Brycers. In fact, I think it's because the program offers something to the artist thats primordial. Allowing the artist to conjure up a scene in his or her mind and mold and shape it to their minds eye vision and making it look like it was molded from the Earth itself. The power of a God, to create and make look real the fabrications of your mind. Welcome aboard!

A whole lot. I keep on blessing the day when a friend of mine gave me Bryce 2 as a gift for my birthday... but the membership here, now almost 3 months old, has really turned the trick for me, I really can't express how much you guys have helped me, so I subscribe to the message of MadDog and... thanx a lot! For me, the Bryce addiction has been born through experimentation and discovery. . . . . however, January has left my Bryce addiction unanswered due to the XBOX that I recieved during the holidays and a game called Halo. Love those graphics! : )

You know it's addictive when you quit Ultima Online because the rendering was taking up all your cpu.
scotttucker3d posted Thu, 06 February 2003 at 11:47 PM
It's so addicting that even with ElectricImage Universe 5, a small renderfarm, and a whole lot of cool plug-ins I still find myself going back to Bryce to make scenics and DTE textures. Bryce has always felt like home to me. Bryce1 is where I learned 3d and it just has some soul to it that most other apps will never attain. - Scott

You can do anything you want in Bryce, from mountains to hearthside to imported Poser models, and every time you use it you find something new to start you down a different path. What more could anybody ask for. Catlin

Addictive enough to have me oh so seriously thinking about purchasing a laptop via credit card. It KILLS me not to have my Bryce with me when I'm out/gone from home. (which can be a lot) My girlfriend makes fun of me, because I can't NOT have my PC rendering something when I'm not in front of it. But, for the price of the new laptop ($1700-the one I want), I could buy SO much new software.... AS

AgentS, I use Bryce on a laptop... I feel I have to discourage you... buy SO MUCH new software instead, believe me! I just can't wait to have enough money to buy a REAL pc :) Stefano

Sometimes I regret having to go to work to make enough money to afford my Bryce "habit". :^)

I have bryce on my laptop. P2 366 w/ 128 Mb. Works a treat, if slower than the desktop (P4 1.8 512 Mb). Allows me to play while I am away! Addictive - Hell, yes!
Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

It is so addicting that I will put files on my laptop so I can render on it at work while rendering something else at home. I need a life. ;) Cie
Ang25 posted Fri, 07 February 2003 at 1:19 PM
I will actually open bryce while rendering an image and it lets me run 2 copies at once. I know I'm just looking for trouble with crashing by doing this but sometimes I just can't wait to work on the next item and I can't wait to render the one I just finished. I don't have a lot of ram or a big hard drive so I don't have a clue why this doesn't crash on me (yet). Ang

Yeah agent I know what you mean, if my comp isn't dling or rendering when I'm not at it, I feel it's wasting time.
Doublecrash posted Fri, 07 February 2003 at 5:51 PM
"And the crowd of BA (Brycean Anonymous) murmured in a subdued tone, almost in unison: -- Thank you, Willie. -- Some tears were rolling, but a thick feel of sympathy filled the room. Then the blond moderator of the assembly took the microphone from the tremblin' hands of Willie Richardson. -- You know, my friend, the public ammission is the first step. -- And then an applause begun from the farthest rows... at first it was an almost inaudible clap, but slowly transformed itself in a surging, deafening roar." Ok. I know, I know, you don't have to call the nearest asylum. But my laptop is rendering and I was gettin mesmerized by that little, almost-paralyzed white line... :-)

heh, I did a Brycer's Anonymouse pic years ago when I was just starting out with Bryce. I see several of you have found your local meeting already.
And of course you'll need the Bryce Patch as well.

my name is nu-be, er, pakled...dangit..and I've been a recovering Bryceaholic for 10 months..at first it was just a simple render. Then I discovered Booleans, then negative Booleans, then textures..I must confess I've downloaded nearly a 1000 mats, hundreds of skies, then I started downloading .3ds files, then bryce objects, (46 CD's later), then I got the idea I could make my own models and import them into Bryce. I started hanging around seedy B&N's to get Strata, Vue, (backsliding there..;), Truespace, Wings 3d, Anim8tor, Doga, dear Lawd! Where will it all END!..bwuahahahahah...;)

Addicting enough to make my eye twitch(sp?) when I'm not bryceing. just kidding LOL) When I don't have time to bryce I make sure I have something rendering. At least I'm not the one paying the electricity-bill. (hmm.. maybe that's why we still don't have a new car?)

Well, Bryce was addicting enough for me that after using it at work, I had to buy a copy for home. Now I have to be extra careful not wreck my wrists and back by spending so much time in front of the computer. Lin
