this is probably a really easy question to answer but... Is it possible to set multiple parents for an object? (if so, how?) what i'm trying to do is have my character grip onto a long stick with both hands...when he moves one hand, the stick and the other hand should move with it... any suggestions?

I once had a problem similar to yours. I got an answer by the great Nerd himself. Here it is below, but I'm not sure wether it can help you : "The trick is called "Circular IK" the chain is an Inverse Kinematics chain (IK) I think it was Anthony Appleyard who first figured out this trick. It is fairly simple. When a figure has an IK chain the last object in the chain can be parented to any object in the scene. Just turn on the IK chain, select the last object in the chain, click Object>Change Parent and pick the other object.." Hope this helps. Compiler

if you could, please explain that a little more in detail? i tried enabling the IK on the limbs, and when i try to parent the other hand to the stick the hand gets deformed... and if i parent the stick the the other hand, it loses its parenting on the first hand...

I'll have a try at it, but you should contact Nerd for a more exact description. 1- you must have an IK created for your long stick. That means you have to transform it from prop to character, and then create an IK for this character. 2- Turn the IK on for your long stick character. Turn the IK off for the arms of your figure. 3- select your long stick character. Go to the figure menu, click "set figure parent", select "right hand". 5- select the part of your long stick character which is the furthest away from the right hand. In the "object" menu click "set figure parent" and parent it to the LEFT hand. 6- Move the right hand, the stick and the left hand should follow. 7- try to figure what happened to that stupid step 4. If your stick is not a character and you don't know how to transform it into one, then try with a chain cr2, there are plenty in the freestuff. To be totally honest, this technique works but is somewhat disapointing : it has the same flaw as the regular IK : sometimes the positions achived are totally unrealistic. As for myself, I use it very rarely. Compiler
