Since you are into pen and pencil and Photoshop, I've got the challenge for you. Let's have an anime character doing something very unanime. (I.e. no thrilling Martial Arts poses, etc.) It can be an established character or one that you make up. Gender is not important. Multiple characters are fine.

But not required. (Sorry, didn't want it to seem like it had to be multiple people!)

ok.... I'm in since Locke decided to let me out of his challenge I think... and also because it'll give me a chance to work with paper (which I don't get to do that often anymore). Keep in mind though I have a couple of other challenges in the running right now. But my G4 is all tied up in rendering for the Pod Racer challenge right now anyway, so I might as well be doing some paper sketches... A couple of clarifications though: What qualifies as unanime. I think I know what character I want to use, but I don't know quite what I want to do yet. Do you just mean no fights? No mecha? No magic? No romance? No school kids? I guess I've watched too much anime to be sure what unanime means...

I'm curious about the "un-anime" too... I mean I've seen anime with (in addition to the standard magic/fighting stuff): Topless females in playing in a water park (Don't remember the title; Captain something) Shopping (Sailor Moon, Project A-Ko, others) Sitting in school (Sailor Moon, Project A-Ko, Tenchi Muyo in Love) Working at a fast food joint (Project A-Ko: Cinderella Rhapsody) Showering (Gatchaman 1) And I've HEARD of even stranger stuff: 1,000 giant male genitals attacking Tokyo, for example.

Hey mav! I'm curious, too. An Anime in an unanime position... ...maybe an animegirl with a pet or something like this :o) well, just remember that i'm the 1st part of the triangle, so you have to challenge me...i'm really looking forward to it! But i'm on vacation from wednesday till sunday..so you have to give me something easy, if you want to see it on tuesday..hehehe...with everything else: see you next monday! :o) have fun! Karsten

Was wondering what un-aniime was too since basically anime can be anything at all. I have seen the race to space, dogfights in WWI, pirates, working at a bread store, a couple of marooned kids in WWII ... Just about anything

The "usual" anime (what the semi-average person on the street would consider usual) is Martial Arts fighting or heroic poses. I didn't realize that you were an anime fan as well, so I figured the no M.A. would make it clear. Otherwise, let's see what you consider unanime. Remember, interpretation is part of the fun. I didn't realize that someone had challenged you. I looked through the forum, but I must have missed Locke's post. If it's a problem, let me know and I'll be mean to someone else. And since this is Renderosity, not Renderotica, the 1,000 attacking male genitalia might not be appropriate. ;-)

well Locke dropped his challenge on me.... and decided to go after someone else.... I have the Pod Racer thing (but I'll probably finish that tonight) and I have a Dreamspinner challenge. But since this one is pen and paper mostly, I'll be able to work on it while my computer is busy rendering.... no problem..... I wanna be a fighting champion or something... :-) Ok.... I think I know where you are going with the un-anime thing. No fights... No magic.... No sex.... No problem.... Expect something in a few days.
