I'm thinking about doing a picture that is a variation of an obscure ad from way long ago. The ad was for Dungeons & Dragons and came out sometime around 1978-1979 and appeared in comic books mostly or only, as I recall. The ad was actually kinda disturbing, in that D&D was a young hobby then and it was relatively unknown how true the ad would prove in a strange kind of way. It showed several kids playing D&D in a room through a doorway. Outside the doorway, another kid is holding a Basic Set (boxed set, Erol Otus cover, I think) The caption read 'I don't need them, I've got my Dungeons & Dragons.' Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find a copy of the image online or if they have an old comic book that might be willing to scan and send me a copy of the ad or something that I can use as reference (thus for educational purposes for me).

I did an image search on Google... I didn't find the one you were looking for but you do get some pretty "interesting" results doing a search on D&D or AD&D... :)

You might try asking on one of the D&D forums, like the one above.
