What would you say to a set of 3-4 robots in a similar style to the one above, but each one different? BTW, the torso pieces are all separate body parts, and use ERC so that you need only bend/rotate/side-side the top torso portion, and all the adomen "plates" rotate/etc a proportionate amount...

not bad....not my kind of thing though. I can imagine it would apeal to quite a few other people though. ;-) good luck with this Val :-)

Love the robot stuff, definatly consider it. BUT, need some sort of apendage so they can pick stuff up, hold Mike or Vicki up with a gun, fix another bot etc. Arms or tools add usability, otherwise the bot is just a planter in the corner. Love the look, it's up my alley.

Again, there were going to be three to five totally different bots with different "layouts" and proportions.

Depejnds on price and versatility of the whole set, but yes, may well be interesting. With some cool texs and MATS etc. :] Fish

Oh, here's an example of what I mean about the torso parts... a quick little animated GIF. The only body part moved in this snimation is the "Chest". Note how the abdomen plates don't deform? And, yes, the three to five robots would all be totally different, not just variations on the one theme.

This reminds me of the designs Gaultier did for "5th Element". Terrific stuff! :o)

Valandar posted Fri, 14 February 2003 at 9:11 PM

Well, here's the second one, ready to be imported and Poser-fied. Anyone have any good ideas for the third 'bot's appearance?

Something spiderish. Or tank tredish. Kinda pudgy. Like Fox said Vincent from Black Hole. He's cute and kinda squatish. Just a thought.

Val, here is my idea for a bot. I used to draw him all the time, and I have much better pics at home somewhere.

This is a 1 minute or less quick sketch here at work on paint to show the idea ( laugh )

A small bot that hovers about, his lower round body would be partially see thru, filled with electricity and lightning.

The body above would melt from transparent to a kind of Shiny metal segmented section on the neck (think of the Xmen series with that guy that turns all metal) That kind of segments. His antenna would be segmented also, and the antenna balls would be small see thru sections full of electricty as well. Eyes are standard round robot eyes, with eye covers that blink. :) Also..his neck can grow longer or shrink as he needs, each segment withdrawing into the larger one below itself.

Awwww...that lil eggy-shaped guy at the top is adorable! He could have the outlines of hatches around his top where various arms could emerge to fix or hold things. That way he could keep his cute basic shape most of the time. Love robots :)

Ok, here is a Bryce 5 MetaBall composition of what my little robot would look like ( sort of ) ... but more .. robotic, with metallic skin with rivits and joints etc.
