I've downloaded a few freebies from other sites and then after opening up the zip file, I find that the main item is a .prj file. What the heck is it, and how do I open it?

I believe you need 3D studio max as these are MAX project files

I was afraid of that. Come to think of it, I think I have an older freebie version from 3D World that I can use to open it and save in another format that Pser can use. Thanks!

wow! .prj is old school hehe max doesnt use these as base file formats. this extension was used back before max in the 3d studio 1-4 days when one would save a whole scene as a project and only save individual models as .3ds... B

If you have Bryce, it will load .prj files. From there you can export out the objects as 3ds or OBJ format, or use in Bryce itself :-)
