I'm curious to know how long it takes other people to load V3's morphes. I only load all the head morphes and it takes exactly 7 minutes to load. The only body morph I've ever used is the long nails so don't know about that one.

My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

I've just reinstalled V3 today and was creating my "V3AllMorphs" figure over again. I didn't exately time it, but it was about a minute for the head and slightly more for the body. Nothing much really. My hardware: P4 2.0 GHz, 256Mb Ram. P4 ProPack. Win XP.

Vicky 3's all body and all head morphs crash my computer each and every time. So I don't know how long it would take because I have to load every blankety blank morph individually. That takes a minute times however many morphs I need to create a figure. Vicky 3 is gathering dust on my hard drive as a result.

I've never really timed it either, but it seems like about a minute for the "all head morphs" and maybe two for the body. P4 2.0GHz, 1.0G RD Ram, 4.03, Win XP

Tirjasdyn posted Thu, 20 February 2003 at 5:20 PM

Why bother? I just pick and choose the morphs I want for the look I am going for.

Interesting, I must be in about the middle of the pack...not nearly as fast as Rhi, but doesn't crash my computer either. :-) Tirjasdyn, I usually load all the head morphes because I might decide to make a new face or I'll need one of the expressions. It's just easier for me to load them all in the beginning.

Never have loaded them all. Like Tirjasdyn, I only load what I think I'm going to use....remove the ones I decide not to use. I think that was the idea behind the injection scheme. Loading individual morphs....about 10 seconds maybe??

TrekkieGrrrl posted Thu, 20 February 2003 at 5:37 PM

And I load all of the morphs becourse when I start a picture I usually never know what it will be :o) Normally I just start turning dials and sorta let the character decide what type of pic I'm making.

I made a v3 cr2 fully loaded (head and body) and saved it as V3Loaded. she loads up in less than a minute.

melanie posted Thu, 20 February 2003 at 7:15 PM

I only load a few at a time, and as I work on an image, if I need something extra, I'll just add that as I go. Melanie

Rhiannon posted Thu, 20 February 2003 at 7:24 PM

I've done the same thing Pizazz ... loading only a few at a time is just a pain and hassle for me, I never know what I'm going to want or need when I begin. I've got a fully loaded V3 (called "my V3"), and she only takes a few seconds to load in. Then I don't have to worry about loading them everytime. I guess I'm just more accustomed to having all the dials at my fingertips, the scrolling doesn't bother me much since I'm so used to where they all are. So Carol, it might be handy for you to do the same with your head morphs ... save a new figure with all of 'em loaded (and the long nail one :-), and you'll save a little time.

I would only load them all for this test, but it took just under 2 minutes for my antique AMD 1.4 to do it. A two year old computer, incidently!

The Speed Injection deal in the free stuff helps, I'd say 30-45 secs on head and a minute to 1.5 on body with a P4 2.2 and 512 RAM.

queri posted Thu, 20 February 2003 at 11:48 PM

I save an all head V3-- it has taken anywhere from 3 minutes to around 7, once nearly 10 minutes on an overloaded Poser 5 runtime. I dont' use the speed loader, mainly cause I don't know how, and forget to. I've only tried working with a fully loaded Vicki once and that was a nightmare-- went into severely slow boxframe to pose her and was just no fun at all. I do want to load the male morphs and the muscularities and play with a custom Victor, but I haven't yet. It's sure not processor and ram cause I have more than Jim. Not AMD though, they seem to be faster. Emily

There is an update for V3 on the product pages for the V3 Base, the HeadMorphs and BodyMorphs - Sr 1.1. They changed the AllMorphsINJ/REM poses and now they all look for the original pose file in the !DAZ folder in the libraries. Loading morphs is much faster now. And the other advantage is that you can move your AllMorphsInj/REM folders where you want to have them - ie. in a Subfolder when you are using P5. There are some updates on the Cr2s as well but you can read about that on the V3 FAQ page (links are on the V3 product pages).

I've not timed it but it takes a long time. It seems to happen in two stages with me. I click on the 'all head morphs' and get the egg timer, then after what seems to be forever the egg timer disappears, then when I try to use a morph I get the egg timer again and another long wait, then I can use the morphs. Same thing happens with the 'all body morphs'. I've got all the latest updates for Vicky and the morphs and I'm on a P4 1.8 with 1.5 gigs RAM running Win XP and Pro Pack.

I have celeron processor, Win XP and it takes about a 2 minutes for the head and 4-6 for the body.

ShadowWind posted Fri, 21 February 2003 at 2:58 PM

It took about 7 minutes to load the head and body morphs in, but after I saved them out as their own Vicky, it takes about 90 seconds to load.
