Renderosity will also be updating the galleries so you will also be able to browse by genre, not just by software application. We will also be implimenting security features to hender clone voting at Renderosity. The way you will be able to vote for pics for the hot 20 will be changed. More info later. AgentSmith

Great! I've always thought that clones shouldn't be allowed to vote, and being able to browse 'by genre' might lead to more productive browsing rather than wading through a sea of poorly posed Nekkid Vickies with Swords(Although I am gonna build a temple or two).

Yes, it's nothing against poser... But quite honestly, I'd like a non poser option for both file searches and image searches... Seems like every other image here is a half naked chick in some cliche armor holding a sword that should be making her buckle... What woman would be stupid enough to fight dragons half nude?

non poser option will be great! like in the forum browse... one can choose to hide a forum or not, yes i know... i'll lost a lot of wonderful image made in poser bu ta least i'll see more images of the gallery, when someone has a low banwidth, like me, it's hard to browse into the galleries and have a look to all images, and it's frustrating to wait a minute or 2 to se 9 thumbs of naked chick.

I also noticed a 'hobbyist' gallery..it's nice to have a home..;) Saw the new layout this morning..only thing that concerns me is it makes it that much easier to 'ignore' other galleries..unless you read..but it makes my work-based browsing easier. Heck Vasquez..I'm on T3 at work, and Cable modem at home, and sometimes it takes me 2 minutes to get the 'chic pics'..know what you're saying.
I wish I'd said that.. The Staircase Wit

Still haven't tried it... it will be mandatory to specify the genre when you upload? I mean... maybe I like to see images of my fav artists, and if they upload in an unsuspected genre? (Like, say, Rochr or sbleci under "natural"?) Oh, I guess I'll keep on browsing the "All" Bryce gallery. Don't want to miss any of your works, guyz! :) Stefano

Oh boy. Saw the changes this morning when I uploaded a new image. I'm not sure about having to choose a genre cause I'm not very good at determining what type of genre an image of mine belongs to. How about an "I donno" category? ;) Cie

How true, a "I dunno" category sounds perfect for me too.....LOL :)

The Mods are still pitching genre catagory ideas to the bosses, so more might show up.

According to the thread on this subject in 'Forum News & Team Contact', it's not mandatory to choose a genre. And people are posting suggestions to that thread for adding/fine-tuning genres. If your genre isn't on the list, why not suggest it?bikermouse posted Thu, 27 February 2003 at 8:30 AM
I looked under abstract. As I had choosen that as a genre my name showed up even though I've posted nothing in the gallery; at least nothing abstract. I also looked up ICMGraphics as a test under abstract as I am at least passingly familiar with ICM's work and found some lovely renders but nothing I'd call abstract. I choose ten or so more artists with the same result. It would seem a good thing if the genres actually meant something as when you post a new image you could get a check box to choose genre for that work rather than depending on the genres of the home page. This might mean more coding on the part of the programmers but might be well worth it if feasable. - TJ

The episodes of Xena that I watched (almost all), she was fully dressed. I wonder what the criteria are for posting for the "Hobbyist" gallery?
