Some times you open a pz3 or import a cr2 and you get nothing in the preview, though the figure is listed in the character list of your scene. When people report this problem, they are usually told to delete the rsr of their obj's. This might not be the solution everytime. I created an obj (and UV mapped it) and made it a cr2. I put the obj in my Geometries folder and set the cr2 to call this obj in the right place. It was a fortnight ago : I tried to import the cr2 and open the pz3 : everything worked all right. Today, I tried to open the pz3 and import the cr2 and I got the vanishing figure syndrome. Tried to delete the obj's rsr : didn't work. I then tried to import the root obj into the scene and got an error message : "error in FFObj.arp plug-in". I tried to reinstall Poser 5, but this didn't work. So the question is : what is this FFobj.arp plug-in and what can be done about it to avoid the vanishing figure syndrome ? Also, do you see a way for me to restore my obj (if you think it is corrupted) ? Thanks in advance to all the technical wise who will give me their advice. Compiler

Forgot to say : now UVmapper tells me that my obj has no facet. Is there any cure for this ?

I have no idea what an FFObj.arp is but the last time that happened to me, my figure wasn't grouped. Don't know if that info will help but good luck with your obj.

heyas; if it was working and now it is not: delete the geometry rsr. run poser and load your figure. if everything loads, go and write protect your new geometry rsr. poser likes to re-corrupt various geometry rsr's for no discernable reason. perhaps it is bored, or you have been neglecting it lately. maybe it's litter box needs to be changed; i don't know. note: if your figure has swapping geometry, run through all the geometry variants before you write protect the rsr. other reasons for invisible figures or pieces: new figures where the obj group name doesn't match the body part internal name (the phi name or the bone name). missing obj. sometimes poser throws the 'can't find blah blah blah.obj' error, and then still seems to load the figure, or a piece of it. having more than 2 gigs of memory. if you have this, you MUST install the patch that lets poser work with this much memory installed. check the cl web site.

AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I asked this same question on the invisable figures and never have been able to get the critters to show!!!! one was a bengal tiger the other was the kaz hair from Daz. and frankly I would love to say I know and can work with all the different files and all but I cant as yet...still learning. But god I am glad I am not the only person with the magical invisable things in poserO.O

Check the Technical FAQ on the CL website. There is some additional information concerning invisible figures and virtual memory settings in there. Bill
