Im curious as to what does the pro pack does. I read on there site that it helps import your poser files into other programs like Light wave and Cinema 4D. But is there anything else it does well for the stand alone poser 4 user?

Multi-pane preview windows; see your scene from multiple angles simultaneously. Very useful when posing figures or lining up props in a scene.
Animated materials; you can keyframe changes in material colours, transparency settings, bump map strength, etc.
2D motion blur.
You know about Poser's issue with the .rsr files in the Geometry folders occasionally becoming corrupted, so you have to delete them? Pro Pack doesn't use geometry .rsr files; you'll never have that problem again.
PNG files for Library thumbnails, which can be viewed and edited in most paint programs.
File compression; can save a lot of hard drive space.
Additional content; cartoon figures, mostly.
The Setup Room, which can make figure creation much easier for those who haven't gotten the hang of PHI Builder.
Python scripting, for additional features and automation.

and since I model in lightwave the most valueable feature for me... direct import of .lwo files (with assigned materials intact :-)
