The notes say
"RTEncoder is a utility for the encoding and distribution of third party modifications to copyrighted Poser files. This utility has been tested by and its use approved by DAZ. Any file type can be encoded, and any file type can be used as the 'key' file."
What about Curious Labs / Runtime DNA?

If you mean the P5 figures? DAZ owns them - or most of them - perhaps not the heads - that depends on if they were denovo mesh or not. The P5 figure are derivative of the P4 figures which were made by Zygote, that part of which is now DAZ. It just means that the utility does a complete job (if used correctly) of making sure anyone who gets its product, must have the intended key. Which is supposed to mean that they own the original figure or file.

Yes, I mean the P5 figures.
Thanks for the answer, but my question should have been a bit more precise:
Is it ok/legal to post (as free stuff) a P5 texture a bit modified encoded with the original file using RTEncoder?

It would only be available to those who own the original. This meets the requirements for protecting the original copyright, so it is OK. A *.psd layer with just your changes would be another way.

Please go the RTEncoder route. (Some of us still don't have PS)

PSP reads PSD files too.

So does Painter, come to think of it, and Fireworks too. I think PSD is compatable with most graphis editing programs out there.

...Duh, never even looked. But sure-enough, got it right here in Corel also.
