Is it just me, or do most custom vicky, pt vic, ps vic, and vic 2 characters look like they've had injections in their lips? Maybe I'll catch some flak for this, but some characters seem to be bordering on charicatures. Maybe it just seems that way for some characters from the sample images...

Hooray! I thought I was the only one who didn't like the "punched-in-the-mouth-and-hare-lip" look.

i see that too.. i guess its just a case of personal style.. I'm not very keen on those odd lips.. although i do like the full pouty ones... I think its a V2 trait... thats why i only use V3 now.. she has much nicer lip dials... -=SimderZ=-

what focal length are you using on your cammera, i found that if i turned it up to like 100 or somthing, it made them seem considerably smaller
Taura Noxx posted Mon, 03 March 2003 at 11:52 PM
while focal length can distort your pictures, I don't think they are behind the lip problem as in Simderella's top example. It's in the morph. I guess its like breast morphs, how many big boobed vickies are there too? LOL Big lips, big boobs, big backside and voila! If the morph dial is there, people will turn them. It makes that particular feature stand out and get noticed I suppose. Not that there is anything wrong with that. hehehehe. For my character pictured above, I acutally used quite a few of those big lip morphs in the opposite direction. Putting in a negative value can have a nice effect too. I also lowered the eyebrows slightly so she doesn't have too much of that suprised brow wing look. Going for an overall look.

Uh yeah, I dislike the odd looking lips probably even more than the basketball sized breasts in V2 renders :P But that's just me :)

Well, I for one like your character, Taura. :) Can't say I've ever seen the attraction of huge lips- on women OR men!

I'm a fan of full lips. Not wonky shaped lips, but just nice, full lips. I think it's because my own lips are thinner, and I always wanted them fuller. Now nicely shaped thin lips like those above on the example above are awesome and on some characters they look great. Other characters require the fuller lips, and so on. It's like an eye color, I guess. Whatever fits best with that particular character is how I look at it. The harelip doesn't do it for me, though. ;)

I've never liked V2 'cartoony' lip area... that's why I love working with Steph. In my opinion she has better looking face.
Taura Noxx posted Tue, 04 March 2003 at 3:51 PM
Steph is a great model too, I did a character portrait of her a while back when I first got her. Its funny, most people would have surgery to remove a hairlip, while here people are lining up for the latest hairlip look LOL. Thing is you have to play around with the morph dials. It is possible to have full lips without getting that punched look.

Full lips are one thing, the "just spent two hours sucking the air out of a fruit juice bottle" are another. I don't think Taura's character has anything to fear in that respect. She looks good, and would be a nice change from load character-shrink lips, load character-shrink lips, load character-shrink other body parts to releive back pain......

Somehow, I think that if Vicky were real, most (males at least), given the chance to chat her up would suddenly find her lips and other attributes just fine. Of course, I've always thought that Miss Piggy was hot too.
