I get that lovely 'can't find blah blah.obj' whenever I try to load V 3.0 after I've saved her...I can play with her just fine, its the loading up part where the error ALWAYS occurs. I'm trying this with the base upgrade, face, bodies, basic highrez texture mats, and bombshell hair with a simple 2 light setup. System specs:Dell Pentium 4 2.0 GHZ 640 Ram 50 Gig drive/40 Gigs Free, WinXP Home Edition, all non-essential proggies disabled, HD all nicely defragged and patched. I've done a search on the boards, followed up threads, read the Daz3D FAQ... My partner spent the better part of a day with Daz3D customer service trying diffrent things, and slapped in another ram card recently...nothing changed. Ideas? My partner and I are getting seriously pissed off at spending so much cash on a new system and V 3.0 to not get anywhere now :o( Thanks for your time, -Des

I have Poser 4 Pro Pak & P5 and I have never had that problem, i wish i could help.. I have not used V2 since i got V3. The only thing i could suggest is reinstalling all the V3 stuff, after removing the stuff u have at the moment. I hope you can find a solution, that would really aggrivate me. -=SimderZ=-

Do you have V3 installed in the default directories? If you move V3 somewhere else in your runtime she gets really pissed off. after installing the SR1 for V3 are u trying to use the Older V3 or the new patched V3? both are still in your list, you need to use the V3 with the circle around the icon once she is patched, the old one if loaded freakes out after the upgrade. there were some files that needed to be manually renamed with the male pack. can you load the V3 to V2 model successfully? it's a different model that takes the V3 head morphs but is for use with V2 clothing, can't use the body morphs on that model. I only have poser5 so tryin to think of the most generic problems I've seen listed in the forums. hope this might point ya in a right direction, your system certainly is capable of using V3.

I have reinstalled her about 4 times now, and thankfully remembered to deleted all her geometries and stuff too..sigh I'm turning off this system and take a break before I get seriously burned out on this. When I cool off a bit, I'll read my printed out readme's for all this stuff and see if I missed anything. I hope I get this fixed, my partner refuses to get anything else V3.0 until we do... I want Anton's Starlet Maps maps, dammit! :o)

I got that on the boots, only one on Vickie 2.0 clothing pack 2, checked it and the cr2 for that boot had a 0byte cr2 file. Also have had that happen on some other things, wonder what is going on here? These are items I have used before without a problem. Marque

I get a request for a non-existant file (NOT a bump) when I try to load V3's HiRes maps.... Then Poser crashes. I'm so burned out on V3 in general that I just load the Nikita texture and use that. So far, I keep forgetting to tackle the issue with DAZ. I feel guilty about all the times I've had to ask them for help on V3, though. Currently, they're still trying to get the MalePak to work for me. It's not me--I use their installers and read the ReadMe's--and it's not the computer--it's a barely-1-yr-old iMac and we keep adding RAM. I'm starting to feel like giving up on V3, too..... (me sad, too:( )

Relax, Desdemmona. At times I have had problems with V3 as well. Specifically if I add a V3 saved character to a scene which already contains other characters (Michael, Steph, etc.). This does not happen all the time, but when she is loaded she appears invisible with only the eyes showing. I have discovered it is easiest to work with her if she is the first character I have added. In addition, if there are crosstalk problems if you want to add another V3 to the scene. But if you save the first V3 and then reload it after making your alterations to the second you can usually get good results. Here's some things to keep in mind. If you are just wanting to play with the face and then have V2 clothing fit, the V3 to V2 sr1 figure is the character to use only you will have to find a way to convert V3 maps to V2 if you want to use them. Personally, I just use my V2 maps since I think they look just as good. Secondly, you can save V3 characters that you have modified. Just remember to load them before Michael and Steph. If you have any other questions, just IM me. I'm pretty much willing to walk you through it step-wise until you get the results that you want. Hope this helps :)

Can you break it down a bit more? Is this the part that works? 1) You load up the V3 sr1 figure no problem. 2) You set whatever morphs you want. 3) You save without seeing any error messages. Where does the problem come in? A) You save the figure in the library. The next time you call up the modified, saved figure from the library, either in a new scene or an existing scene, Poser whines and says that it can't find the .obj file. B) You save the V3 figure as part of a .pz3 Poser scene and the next time you open the .pz3 file you get the error message. C) Other. If it's the character .cr2 file, have you tried saving this as a Poser scene .pz3 file to see what happens (or vice versa)? If it's neither A nor B, but something else, what happens if you try those two scenarios? Also, can you give the exact error message? Hoping I can help, Cres

I was getting that sme error mess for a while after I got V3 and all the packs and accessories. I found just deleting all the .rsr in the geometries folder solved my problem until I have an aborted render then sometimes it comes back. Marge

I had similar problems when I first got her, and it turned out to be the texture maps. They were too large for my computer, especially the bump maps. They were ENORMOUS!!! I went in and edited the MAT files to disable the bump maps and all went perfectly after that. Melanie

I would suggest you do like guesswho already mentioned and delete the .rsr files in the geometrie folder, maybe a corrupted .rsr is causing the error. Hope you can solve the problem. I have ProPack and P5 and never had a problem with V3 - the Cr2s are stored in subfolders and I edited the posefiles that I could store them in subfolders too. Have all the available morph packs and updates and everything works fine - even when I save a pz3 or new Cr2 with V3.

guesswho - if you're on a PC, you can manually set the .rsr file to be read-only. (In Windows Explorer, right click on the file, left click on properties, and check the box for Read-only.) This should keep it from getting corrupted. Cheers!
