Apparently the Borland/Inprise deal with Corel fell through - http://famulus.msnbc.com/famuluscom/businesswire05-16-062106.asp?sym=INPR. Not sure what this means for the MC products Corel picked up, but it doesn't sound too good Link found at Willow's PFO

Then as soon as possible let us get hold of the source forms of Poser 4 and Bryce 4, by whatever means, so we can forget all these indecisive financiers and get along with developing Poser and Bryce, perhaps like is with Gnu. Weinberg did a good job developing and debugging Poser 4, but how safe legally is his position as apparent de facto possessor of Poser if some bunch of financiers suddenly claims to own the rights to it?

Corel's been in business a long time. Why does this event affect anything?

Well, if they're having problems, Corel is certainly proceeding as if it is not affecting them. I spoke at length with them to establish a relationship ship that we had with MC when we would beta test, etc. They were very optimistic. If it's a facade...it's a good one. Cris
