Subject: Question and favor about celeb morphs

Okay, Its me again, I hope no one minds all of my questions. It seems I will never fully understand all of the ins and outs. LOL

Ok, My hubby wants to know if I could make him a Jennifer Aniston character. Now, I have told him I am not that good but just out of curiosity, how would I go about making a morph of Jennifer for Vicki? Is it possible and also I am guessing that I would take a picture of her for the texture correct?

Ok, that was the question, now the favor is does anyone know if there is a Jennifer Aniston morph out there or would anyone want to help me in making one? His birthday is coming up and I would just love to be able to make her for him, to have as wallpaper for his computer.

You'll get lots of opinions on this, I bet, but my answer, for what it's worth is... The texture should not make the character's likeness. IMO, you should attempt the morphs on a plain, untextured figure first. This will help you create a closer likeness than if you were depending on the appearance of the texture. And there are lots of pitfalls when it comes to creating a texture from photographs, more so when you're trying to create one from a celebrity image. For one thing, the pic (or pics) you're using won't be evenly lit, won't have the same colour balance, focus or anything. In fact, the only thing they will have in common is that they will be of the same person. Building a worthwhile texture from photos is an art in itself, and the only good way to do it is to photograph the subject yourself, in as good lighting as possible. As for how to create the likeness from morphs, there are several possible routes you could take. You could build your morphs in another application such as Lightwave or Max; something I have never attempted. Or you could have a shot at using the morph dials built into Victoria. They are capable of producing an incredible variety of appearances, and with a little patience you can get a very good likeness. The second method is the one I use.

I agree with everything said above. Sometimes you'll get lucky and find the perfect source photo for a texture map, but then even with that you've got problems...like how to blend the visible face area into the rest of the head without a horrible line. It's a hassle. Frankly, the way to go is to use the Standard DAZ texture and morph with that on. Face is in the shape, IMO, not the skin tone, which you can always modify on any texture. *Unless you're trying to morph Sissy Spacek. I once tried to do Jennifer Anniston for Victoria a long time ago. I no longer have the results, but if you dig deep, you will find a thread where I am showing my WIP. -WTB

I suspect you might get a closer resemblance with V3 (more morphs) unless you want to create your own in another program. Try getting ahold of a couple of JenAn pics, one full face, one profile with a neutral expression (screen caps from the show will work if high-quality closeups). Map them onto a poser prop square and place just beyond and to the side of the head of your figure in the same size and orientation. That way you can compare your progress continually in one view without jumping back and forth. There's a lot of Vic textures available - I'd say the most important thing there is selecting one in her general base tone, but mainly look for eyebrows that match. For me that's the main thing that can make or break a resemblance. Good luck - please consider posting a pic of your results here if you can.
