hi, This is a flagpole i'm working on for a project i'm doing. It's the very first thing I've modeled all by myself. I'm going for the Mideivel(sp, my dictionary is broken) style. I'm somewhat happy with everything but the actual flag, the shape is ok, but I don't know how to add ripples, etc to it to make it look realistic. I want to add some, but not overdo it, as i'll be writing stuff on it that needs to be read, suggestions? Thanks, Sterlingdothrom posted Tue, 11 March 2003 at 10:02 PM
not a bad job. i'm not too sure how to add ripples though. perhaps there is something under the modifiers that would help. oh, and its medieval. oh, and don't forget to apply nice shaders. :). dthrm

Yeah, I have some shaders, and a few nice phototextures I'd rather use, I need to learn how to convert those, I also saw a set or two in the marketplace that looked cool too. Thanks for the compliments, us beginners need it, especially with out noses poked in a cararra for dummies manual, it's almost demeaning. :)

A wave modifier in the properties would likely be easier. That would be my choice.

Thanks for the tips! Linear wave seems to be doing the trick. Now back to playing around! I do have another question though, but that's a different thread..
