I almost deleted this one as soon as I took it because I wanted a shot of the bird eating the seeds. The bird was facing me, and saw me just before I took the shot. He was already in the process of taking off by the time I took it. He was in a big hurry because he dropped the seeds in his beak, and quickly turned around. Note the seeds still in the air! One nanosecond later and he was gone. Taken at a very fast shutter speed, cant exactly remember. This is a Blue Jay. They were almost totally wiped out here in Memphis last summer due to an outbreak of the West Nile virus. A Blue Jay sighting now is extremely rare.
