Hello all, I am new to Poser and now that I have started downloading files from the net, I am wondering if there is a file management program that everyone, or anyone, uses. I thinking of something that would allow me to control how files are installed into the Poser directories and possibly allow me to organize how the data is seen within Poser. So instead of having 5 different hair location (e.g.), I can move them all into one location. Also, is there a way to rename the files in Poser, so I can include the models name. Some files only work with certain figures, although I guess I could change the, but that is later down the road for me. Any suggestions?? Thx, Renegade

You can rename the cr2 /pp2 without any problems. A library manager for Poser is Pbooost (for sale here, in the marketplace for 20$ - if you have P4 it's a MUST in the long run, and even if you have P5 it's a good tool for moving and managing files) There are also some Poser installers, but I haven't tried any of them so I don't know if they're any good. One proggie is PInstall. I think it's good, but again, I haven't tried it.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

"a file management program that everyone, or anyone, uses." There's also a free utility by Yarp, P3dO, that I find invaluable for just that reason.

I install all the files in the same folder of my choosing, as long as props are in props and figures in figures, etc. For instance, if I download a prop and it has a .obj, .pp2, and a jpg I still put them all in one folder and then I edit the file locations in the .pp2 file.......I do this so I have all the neccessary files together....I don't have to go searching for textures in the textures folder or searching for the .obj file in the Geometries folder...
