Er... Not sure how to explain it, but are there any sorts of screen capture devices that can grab an animation from your screen? Sorta record what's happening? The thing I would like to "record" is those neat moving patterns that WinAmp generates. But I'm not sure if it is possible. Something tells me that is must be possible, I can take a snapshot of them using Print Screen, but those are naturally stills. Oh and IF I really should have asked this somewhere else, please point me to the proper forum :o) I's just that this is the forum I'm most accustomed to ;o)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

There is something in windows coz I used to have a web cam attachment and could 'record' what it was looking in at - I thnk it was in the Media stuff. if I remember rightly it could capture other on-screen movement too. i will have a look and let you know if no one has told you before then.

You could try Lotus ScreenCam which was given away as a Freebie with an issue of PC Plus magazine some time ago. You might try visiting their Web site and see if they are still offering it for download in their archives section? I also believe that Microsoft Office offers something very similar to ScreenCam, but the name of the application escapes me at the moment. Other than that... can't be of further assistance... Sorry. You might try SnagIt, it's $39.95. It might do everything you want.Dizzie posted Tue, 18 March 2003 at 1:00 PM
This program is exactly what you need...it's easy to use and also works great for making tuts... Camtasia Recorder is a screencam that records all activity - including narration - on your Windows PC screen. Camtasia Recorder records your screen videos as AVI files. http://www.techsmith.com/products/studio/default.asp

Camtasia is great; it also costs $349. SnagIt is pretty good, but only costs $39.95.

Ulp. didn't look at the price, I only downloaded the demo.. Bit of a hefty price tag there. Perhaps I should try out if Snagit can do the job as well. But I must say Camtasia DID deliver :o)

One might take advantage of the provided links to do a little research?! Here are some of the SnagIt features that apply to the topic in question: "* Capture onscreen activity, including mouse movements, as a standard AVI video file. * Optionally record audio. * Create time-lapse videos." You can read the rest by clicking on the link. Camtasia has many more, desirable features, and really looks slick. I fiddle with it once and awhile.
