I think the biggest reason that Poser 5 was such a... uhm... difficult... transition from Poser 4 was b/c the developers and marketing were under an immense amount of pressure to get the next, FEATURE-RICH version of the software out. They pushed it, and lost a lot of credibility... So, I'm asking the developers over at DAZ to take your time! From what I hear, this is gonna be really cool, and I would hate to see them push it b/c we're so excited to see it. As soon as CL showed us the cloth and hair movies, everybody (myself included) clambored to get their hands on it... and CL ran their distro too soon without testing or a beta release. I think everyone here loves DAZ and CL, and I know I won't necessarily give up Poser Pro for DAZ Studio... but I think DAZ has a pretty large selection of beta testers here to make sure they deliver a quality V.1... Knock us dead! Excited to see DAZ succeed, RP

If DAZ brings out an app which is as easy to get to grips with as P4PP, supports the features we have come to know and love - and improves on them, plus adds true reflections/caustics/displacements... AND HAS GOOD, USEFUL FILE/LIBRARY MANAGEMENT...I for one will drop Poser like a hot potato.

'So, I'm asking the developers over at DAZ to take your time' I think that's pretty much what they were planning to do anyway. They're not stupid. They saw just the same things as we did re Poser 5, and I'm sure they drew their own conclusions. The reason DAZ is so successful is they always go the extra mile for their customers. I doubt if they'll change that policy now. mac

Daz Studio is going to be a public beta. SOOoooo you get to slam it hard and report back to Daz, so does everybody. More that gets broken the more gets fixed and a better application it will be, hopefully.

Moreover, DAZ rolling it out as modules will largely prevent the problem of doing too much at once.

"Items included in the initial stage of the DAZ|Studio Beta Program: Support for Windows 98SE/2000/Me/XP and MAC OSX 10.2 and above" From the Daz3d.com Daz|Studio info page. Mac will be included, they gottcha back :)

If they really do introduce DAZ Studio Beta for Windows and Mac simultaneously, I'll personally found the Temple of DAZ!

Honestly, supporting Mac and PC equally would be reason enough for me to give up on Poser altogether. Seems logical being a Mac user and all. :)

Will Vicky be naked with a sword in your Temple of Daz?

Will Vicky be naked with a sword in your Temple of Daz?<<< Probably. But hopefully you won't have to pay for the privilege of entering to find that the temple is only half finished. Take care, be well, keep flying. casamerica

I'm with you SamTherapy...LOL. I like Poser 4, but I'm not married to it...LOL. If Daz Studio turns out to be a better program, I'm all for it. Laurie

We want it now! We would rather have a non-working Poser 5, I mean, DAZ Studio, than no program at all! Stop teasing us with these pictures! We want it now! Gimme, gimme! Now! Now! Here's my credit card! Let me pre-order and get it early! Oh, wait, it doesn't work properly? You sold us a beta version of the program? Take your time! We can wait! We'd rather have a fully working program than a non-working program. We can wait! I, for one, will be behind DAZ Studio 100%, even though I have no idea if it will work on my PC, I have no idea what the recommended system specs are, I have no idea how much the separate modules will cost, I have no idea when it will actually be released, and so on. But, even after not using it nor seeing it in action, I think it's better than Poser 5.
