Anyone know why Poser 4 screws up when trying to save an avi as RLE compressed. Message I got was that there was a problem streaming the avi and that the proper codecs were not installed - only problem there is that they were and still are.

I was having problems with getting that message when using the Intel Indeo compression, which I like the best. I later noticed that it worked with a different animation. I think that some compression formats are picky about the size of the animation. I know of one compression that requires the image size to be multiples of 8. I think there is a similar problem with the Indeo. If I try and save at a size of 300X350, I get the message you got. If I use 380X400.. it works! Try creating a test animation at 380X400

I was suign 160 x 160 at the time. I need the RLE compression to work with a video component in Delphi. Size is not really an issue though, it was only an experiment any, so I'll try a few different sizes and see what happens. I was starting to wonder if it was the poser patch playing up, though I haven't tried RLE before, so it might well have happened before I used the patch, I'll probably never know now. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give a try.
