Anyone ever used Poser under Linux w/ Win4Lin?
I tried it an hour ago and it seem to work great (via Win98 host). Seem the speed's comparable to running Poser under Win98 natively. All Poser's functions seems to work as it should be.. I'm gonna try all my other apps (vue, vc6, codewarrior, ms office etc) and see if they work good. If they are, i'm going to go Linux 100% and get rid of my other OSes.
Downside to this i've seen so far unfortunately is that Win4Lin doesn't support DirectX and only runs Win9x/WinME only...no NT/XP...ARGH! And you can't run much games...
If i find all my regular apps run fine on Win98 then its ok I guess. I'm sick of leaving WinXP on for long periods of time and watch the PF (Pagefile) usage shoot up high.
The screen capture's what I ran on my notebook (P3 500mhz, 192 MB Ram Running Redhat 8.0 on Gnome Desktop).
Can't wait to try it on my desktop ;)
Anyone else tried anything like this before? Encountered any problems on the long run??
