What's a western scene without cacti? Just about finished with cover. My ground texture is getting better, but I think because of the noise I'm using for that pitted/pebble look, it still looks a little pixelated. I have interpolation with gaussian on and the maps are 512x512. Have to work some more on that.(The "c" in mclarsen is "CHEZ"; that's me)

Hope you don't mind some constructive criticism. First of all, I Love this already, I can't wait to see the "final" version. But I do have a slight tendency to be distracted by the ground....Perhaps a different texture map would be in order. See, if you tile the swirly one, it just LOOKS tiled. And of course, I have NO idea how to fix this. Perhaps Mark in his infinite Texture mapping wisdom could help more... Everything else looks beautiful. Could add some yellow fog for that "dusty" look, or turn on depth... Peace, Hoborg

The reason for the swirlys is to show the impressions left by a worm when walking through the dusty dirt (other worms have been here before); similar to a snakes' path, but you're right, it is little distracting and tiled looking. I could alter that in post-production, but that doesn't help me learn how to do this "the 3D way". I'm for sure working on that. Please don't hesitate with constructive criticisms. It's why I assume we are all here; to learn from one another. I have a long way to go in the shader department and need work in other areas as well. I'm just happy to finally be producing in Carrara and get more excited every day when I see how easy some pretty cool effects are and the amazing stuff you guys are doing with it.

That ROCKS!! I love it. Gets better and better. I like the ground but it seems to have a little shininess to it...I would lower that...Personal opinion only. I still dig it! Nice job! Clint

Looking good mc! I understand what you're doing with the swirls ( worm tracks)and that's pretty smart! You'll figure something out about the "tiled" look. That's the fun of creating an image! I'm really enjoying watching your progress...it's a great project! Thanks Daf
