Ok, I've perused my manual thoroughly and for the life of me, I can't find the answer to this question! I am using Photshop 6. I am doing a new tutorial sold here at Renderosity, and it tells me to set a layer to color black. While I find where to change a layer to color, I find no option to set that color and find no where in the manual where this is addressed sigh. Can anyone help me please? Thank you

change the pallate colour to black, then use the paint bucket tool to change the layer to black.

set a layer to color black,ok is it text , a vector layer mask, I doubt they mean greyscale, or a solid layer... BTW that sounds like a layer filled with black - it could just be a matter of using the curves to make the curve from / to _, that will make it black what's the cost of the tutorial? what's it about?

I usually do this with the background layer. Go to color picker and select black as your forground color. Go to edit and click on fill. The window pops up asking if you want to use the foreground color. Hit yes and it's done.

I think I know which one you're talking about. I had the same problem, so I asked the author. I'll give you the link to the tutorial she gave. Another easy way to do it is to go to the layer, then Select, and Load Selection. Then use your paint bucket with black to get the layer set to black.karosnikov posted Thu, 10 April 2003 at 1:38 AM
