Hello all,I thought I would pass this onto you. I found a software that will convert jpg files to png files. It will even do multiple files within the directory.
Check it out if your interested.
They have a trial version, 15 days, but right now they have an option to extend it to 45 days.
Just thought I would pass this along.

Allow me to recommend IrfanView; does all that, and is free for ever. I wouldn't be without it. ;-)Renegade572 posted Wed, 26 March 2003 at 9:44 AM

I've been using Irfanview practically since I had an internet connection. It's the best piece of Freeware around. As far as the PNG files...they contain an Alpha Channel, or transparency channel, while JPG does not. Converting a JPG to a PNG for Poser's libs is virtually impossible. I am assuming that the use here is for the Poser libraries? I once tried creating a PNG in Irfanview for this purpose, it did not turn out well. For viewing and batch conversion/rename Irfanview is great, but for anything else I use Paint Shop Pro7. It can't go head-to-head with Photoshop, but for under $100 you can't complain. I also own Photoshop, but I get more use out of PSP(much easier to work with).

This takes a couple of steps, but you can make the converted .png files work. With yarp's P3DO Explorer, use the .rsr <-> .png plug in. Convert the .png file to .rsr. Delete the .png file. Convert the .rsr to .png. I do it all the time because Photoshop doesn't make .png files that Poser likes. P3D0 has the magic touch.

Crescent, I've found that if you don't leave part of the image transparent, Poser displays it funny. If you fill the entire background it doesn't save an Alpha channel. I've never used P3DO Explorer, but I hear nothing but good comments. I like to add text, mainly so I can tell what base model I used. I also save all renders as PNG so I don't have to try and snip out the background. I can easily add layers underneath in PSP. Sure the files are bigger, but they are nicer to work with.

If Poser doesn't display the png correctly, simply convert the png to rsr using P3DO, then delete the png file and convert the rsr back to png. It should work then.
