No, TinTin was the character, not a dog. His dog was named Milou I believe and he was Belgian (Tintin, don't know about the dog) and involved in all sorts of mystery adventures all over the world. There's also a Druuna character I did over at PropsGuild from Serpieri's comic.

I love Druuna! I have every issue of HeavyMetal magazine and she's in a few of them.

OOPS. Thanks, Jon. I got mixed up. But I do remember something about a dog called RinTinTin. You said Tin Tin was a belgium comic character. Was it the one with that Curvy Hairstyle and those two fat detectives ? Siegbert.

That's the one! I'm not sure about RinTinTin but there's a RanTanPlan from Lucky Luke, and hey what about those Asterix fellows? We get a lot of European comics here on Greek tv so I'm pretty certain of the names :)

His name is really Milou

RinTinTin was indeed a dog, but he was a TV crime hound, as in Rin Tin Tin Canine Cop. If you're really hankerin for a Rin Tin Tin fix i think it still runs on the USA Network.

At one point in time some over at the PFO was doing a an Asterix ... and the big guy. I never saw them finished or available and they weren't for poser. Good luck

TinTin ran with some drunken seacaptain....I dont remember his name but his favorite expletive was "Blistering Barnacles".....Snowy was the dog's name in most english language translations... Blistering Scarabs
Inkwolf posted Mon, 22 May 2000 at 8:51 PM
I think the captain was Captain Haddock and the detectives were Thompson and Thompson. :P And Asterix's big buddy was Obelix. It would be great to see poser characters of any of them!

Martial has the right name which is Milou

Blistering barnacles - yes I remember Captain Haddock, TinTin, Milou/Snowy (which was the English name for the dog) and the Thompson Twins (which were the detectives). I'd love to see P4 characters for any of them, or for Asterix, Obleix, Getafix, Cacafonix, and the rest of that little Gaulish village Paul

I've seen animated TinTin stuff on cable, but it's always only in passing on some channel I don't normally watch, so I don't remember where, but the character is distinctive. Most of the books (both original Belgian/French and English translations) were available at the comics shop I frequented in Chicago, though I only read one (a room-mate bought it).
