I think I just figured out how to make a morph target to create a specific face. Ok let me explain. I started with Vicky 2 and spun the dials to create a face I like. I followed a tutorial somewhere where it said to click object > spawn morph target and name it the face I choose. I have done that. (Havent tested it yet) But if I did this right, how to I save as a .obj MT to share with others in free stuff, or can that even be done?? If I didnt do it right, I feel really stupid and please correct me. LOL Annette

amlaborde,When you spin the dials and get a face you like, you haven't created a morph target...you have created a ..well face.To save this and /or to share it..just open a folder in the face library, and click on the + sign, and name it.All your dial settings will be saved. If you want to share your work in free stuff(which is very nice of you!),you should really put togeather a package of six or more faces. Oh ok thanks for setting me straight on that note. I wasnt sure how that worked. So when you save a dial setting like like that, it is actually a face? Hmmm I did save the face already so I guess I will keep spinning and come up with some more. :)

Well, maybe my term is not correct...a face pose file perhaps? At any rate I was just telling you the easy way to do it.If you were to use the magnets to alter the face beyond what you could do with the dial settings, then you would save that out as a morph target as you were doing. SWAMP

Ok, I think I get it now. I have only used magnets a couple times but I will try it. Yes the face pose file. Well, what the tutorial said was after I am satisfied with my results, do the spawn morph target thing and name it. So it ends up at the top of my dials for that character after I have added it to my figures library. Then it said go to the faces library and save it there too. Thats what I have done so far.

The thing is, you can't legally redistribute the morph target file that you made using Vicki's morphs. The morphs were made by someone else, so when you redistribute your "spawned" morph target, you're giving away other people's work. The face file is okay to redistribute because it saves the dial settings, not the actual morph information. Anyone who uses the face file must own the mesh and the morphs to be able to use the file. Cheers!

A face file and pose file just save dial settings A spawned or collapsed morph like what you did combines the morph targets into one. This is cool if you're using just your own targets, but if you use anyone elses (including the ones on the base figure) you cannot distribute the new morph without permission since it contains their work as well. I would recomend using face files to distibute character faces. Plus .. they're smaller

I understand what you mean now about sharing the spawned morph target as is. If I were to distibute it even as a free item, anyone downloading it would have all of Vickis morphs? Essentially they would have Vicki. Thanks for helping me clear it all up. I just really want to be able to share stuff with everyone here and I wanted to make sure I go about it the right way. So lets review.. :) Face or pose files using Vicki 2 or anyone elses morphs are ok to distribute as free. MTs are not, Unless they are completely my own. Oh another quick question I read over at Daz that the Vicki p4 cr2 file can be distributed . This from From Daz " For a freely distributable Vicki 2 P4 cr2, download the Vicki 2 P4 LE installer below". Can this be used as distributable? I have been reading through the notes on the page and it seems as though this one can be. Am I correct in my reading? I definately do not want to be in violation of any copyright issues. I have read many threads about this topic and tried the best I could to follow them but it seems there are so many different thoughts on it. LOL Thanks to everyone for your help.
