Someone was kind enough to post a really cool sock monkey mesh in free stuff not too terribly long ago...unfortunately the zip didn't have a readme so I don't know who to credit :o(

Anyways...How do I turn this guy into a posable figure with Poser 4.0? I have a friend who would get a kick out of an animated gif.

Links to previous threads and tutorials would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time,
-Des

Well, the first thing to ask is whether this "sock monkey" has groups? I could not find the object. If it has the groups and is not just one mesh object - you should be able to find instructions looking for PHI. This is a text file that sets up the movement dependencies (to best of my knowledge). Like if body moves forward then hand moves with it (z trans) or if hand moves up (y trans) forearm, etc moves up too. If it doesnt have groups - believe that you have to create them with the grouping tool but not sure as only have done the "bone" creations in PPP and P5. Good luck! PS this is a "to my knowledge post" ;-)

Here's the thread, it was in the marketplace wishing well. Done by cplymill. Sharen (SAMS3D) has an article in this months Renderosity magazine on how to make a posable figure from an object. Hope this helps. Arleen

Ack, is there a more precise way of selecting areas, especially the curved ones in UV Mapper? Grouping tool in Poser is just a little better, especially since you can flip the little bugger over to select his tail...ugh, I hate having shaky hands :o/
