I'll shortly be in possession of a 1.7ghz Athlon XP, 768mb ram, with Windows XP Home. I can't wait to try Vue on it! My question is this: how well does Vue work with Windows XP Hom? Any issues I should know about? I'll be soooooo glad to say gubye to that old 450hz! :D I'd be interested to know if anyone else with a high-spec pc has encountered problems using Vue. JoeBlack

I think the vast majority of any problems you may have with Vue on the new machine will be with OpenGL. If you can get the Vue OpenGL to work well with the new machine's OpenGL, you'll be great. I know that until I got those issues solved on my box, even though it is a Mac, Vue wasn't stable. Now, it is quite stable and runs like a champ.

yea I had problems with OpenGL on my old (this) 450mhz, and it was solved by disabling OpenGL in the options. I'm not sure if this new pc's video card is compatible with OpenGL, so I guess I'll have to wait n see JoeBlack

i remember a problem while installing Vue on XP. But there is apatch available to sort that out - if the problem is still around.

I'm running XP Home with Pentium 4 1.6 GHz and 256 Megs of RAM (recently upgraded to 768 Megs) and rarely experience a problem. I'm very pleased overall.

I'm new to Vue4, less than two weeks using it under XP Home on a P4 1.7GHz with 512MB RAM. My pc is over a year old, an off the shelf HP 7966, no hardware changes, so it's nothing special. Vue4 seems very easy on my system (compared to Bryce and Poser 5) and is not prone to crash or it would have by now. Up till yesterday I was running without opengl on due to not having compatible Nvidia drivers installed. I'll know soon if Vue is as stable with opengl on as running without it. So far it looks good. Anyway, I know I can turn it off and be fine.
