Why aren't the boxes that i place next to each other comming out the same shade? Why is there a line between the rows and coloems Using Daz Complex Globle lightsing w/ anti aliesing No Text, highligh and Ambeine black, color gray. it's doc geep's magic boxes

Interesting effect, and I hadn't thought about it before.... Poser doesn't "know" that the boxes are tiles in a single surface, so it treats each box as a separate object, shading it in the way that would look natural if it were standing on its own. Each flat surface is effectively bulged just a bit. (This is actually compensating for an oddity in human perception, in which edges are overemphasized.) The only way to make the roof and wall look "solid" is to build them as single solid objects, either by scaling up a single box or by building in another modeler like Anim8or.

You could always export it out of Poser as a single .obj and then reimport it and give it the same colour.

No, you won't You can use the grouping tool to define material sections (from one to many polys in a section). Geep has some tutorials on the grouping tool...

I kinda like it this way actually ... give each panel a nice bumpmap for rivets and you've got some cool metal paneling

Giga,

You have "soft" edges on your boxes.

You want "hard" edges.

Poser bends the light (this is what you have) when going around an edge when the vertices are welded.

Check the attached link for additional information if you want.
