has ever used the original poser 1? And by the way, does anyone know when poser 1 came out?

Just looked at my original Poser box. The manual has 6/95 on the back. The three floppy disks show a copyright of 1991-95 for Larry, and 1995 on the interface for Fractal Design. It required Mac OS 7 or greater. Fun to look through the manual again. The hands had five standard positions: taut, relaxed, fist, pointing and flat. But lots of the basics were there, and I remember how incredible it seemed at the time! Elisa/gryffnn

About 2 years ago I found a file free for DL from some site I had happened upon while searching for Freeware 3D apps. It was called Poser. Crude and simple, but very intriguing it was. I later found that the file was infected with a virus. I downloaded the Propack demo, and from that very moment I needed to buy it! Since then I have spent just about every spare penny on 3D apps and a system to run them. If only the technology was around when I was in high school...

Never bought Poser 1, but lusted after it from the very beginning. When I first became aware of Poser, it was Mac-only at the time, which was something of a turn-off for me, as I had just moved up from an old Atari rig to my first PC.

Of course, there never was a Poser 1 - just Poser, followed by Poser 2.

I bought the original as soon as it came out. Used it for a while then shelved it. Still have it around here somewhere, I think.

There must have been a PC version of just-plain-Poser eventually, I used it from a cover disc freebie several years ago but never progressed beyond pretzel-man. Hmmm, not much change there.
